I've ordered an 8" sub and 600w amp. The sub will fit perfectly in place when I remove the original sub, and is MUCH more powerful.

Any chance of details of the Recoil and if possible a step by step fitting guide for those keen to follow in your footsteps?

I just removed the woofer from the box (be aware there is a screw underneath), disconnected the original wires from it witch I cut and extended for high level input to the RECOIL amp (it has a DC-offset trigger mode, så no need for remote power). Then I installed new speaker cables from the woofer to the output of the amplifier. +12V was connected directly on the battery fusebox (with a 30amp fuse) and ground was taken on one of the bolts behind the battery. Had to cut into the foam to install the amp. Was concerned it would lack cooling, but it doesn't get any hot even after an hour of playing (pure class D amp). The amplifier turns on and off with the entertainment system. I doubt the woofer will last if driven that hard over time. Did you find out which of the cables are + and -?
Could not see any markings on the amp. Then again, I only looked through the little removable panel. Haven't checked on the sub itself.

I'm going with the Helix AAC3 high level adaptor, which provides auto on/off for the amplifier. Used that several times before, and it works well.

Ahh. Sweet! I'll test it, just to make sure. Have experienced that they've messed up at the factory.
In fact, a lot of the earlier models of the Skoda Enyaq had subs wired wrong so they were out of phase.
