Ok. Been a few (rightly so) comments on the audio system sounds when you collect the car, the stock equaliser settings and the sound positioning in the vehicle as a bit of an audiophile are IMPO dire, but, with a bit of time adjusting both can be much improved, we’ll dramatically improved and personalised to the user.

Bit of experimenting over the weekend and I got settings I can live with, hopefully the attached video recorded on my phone will show why, if you can stream it to a decent audio system please do, great track and the bass is banging, trust me. 😝

Picture of the EQ settings please?

There you go.

Hi there!
New on this forum as I just picked up my white MGS6 the other day. I noticed the poor sound when I tested the car a month ago, but having been a car audio dealer and installer back in the day, I know it can be fixed. Having had it for a few days now, I can safely say that the speakers are actually quite decent, except for the "subwoofer". It just lacks some power and a better sub.

There are several ways to go about that, and I will probably revisit that in the summer, either by getting a high level audio adapter (Active analoge converter), to take the audio signal and feed it to a separate new amp and subwoofer, or get a new DSP multichannel amplifier to replace the stock amp. I guess the system interface harness is similar or identical to the MGS5, and there are ready made plug and play cable harnesses for the MGS5.

Anyway, until then I just have to live with it as it is. My question though is that I've seen people here mention changing/adjusting the positioning, and I can't for the life of me find that setting anywhere!

I have the Dual motor Luxury model (guess that's the Trophy aka top spec in the UK?).

Can anyone point me in the right direction? I can only find the EQ settings and nothing more related to sound.

I don't think I have that menu. I'll have to go check if I'm just blind, a complete noob or if it actually isn't there!
It should be adjacent to the equalisation settings. My car is valet parked a mile or so away from me at the moment otherwise I would pop out a take a couple of photos. Google (Reddit) suggests the should be no differences between the European and UK Trophy versions.

Nope. Nothing there except the EQ.

I see from the pics posted by @Giller that there are a lot of settings that I don't have. Makes me wonder if my car has old software? Looks like there are settings for speed compensation, loudness etc. I have none of that (or cant find it).

Same here (Portugal), I don't see the Soundstage option/menu.

I'll pop in the parking to take a picture of the software versions, can you do the same in order to compare @Micropop & @Giller ? I reckon it could be something to do with differences for LHD and RHD

Below equaliser you should see Sound Stage in the settings menu.
Where is this settings menu? If i go to the music icon, and play something off the DAB or from my phone, I only have skip back, pause/play, skip forward and the EQ setting, like in the pic I posted.

Very strange! I'm about to go to bed now, but I'll check it tomorrow. BTW, where would one find out what software version it is?

Oh and if you come up with an upgrade for the or subwoofer please post it, I’m all ears 😜
I will, but you'll probably have to wait a couple of months at least! It's freezing winter up here by the arctic circle, and I don't have any heated space to take the car and explore. But as I understand the sub is under the styrofoam in the boot, next to the battery. Would probably need to bulid a custom fit sub, but I haven't seen how much space there is.

So it's actually quite simple: the Sound Stage option is indeed present but you have to enter Settings -> Volume -> * Scroll all the way down*

@Micropop we were both pressing the EQ from within the "Playing Media", and that will pop up the EQ (only) on top.

Regarding the sub, I have attached a couple of pictures (it is under the styrofoam).
