That's **** news if it's happening. SAIC of course is (like all big Chinese companies) heavily subsidised by government and has to do what it's told. China is basically taking over Russia by the back door this way.

SAIC has been selling cars in Ukraine since 2021. When the war started in 2022, they spread the news that they left the Russian market and closed all contracts so as not to cooperate with the Russians. And now we see that they seem to have silently returned to this Reich

I have been apolitical when it comes to cars, I can even separate 'that man' from the actual Tesla cars and SAIC cars from political governance but this news will make it extremely hard to consider MG or by extension probably any Chinese car in future.
Unfortunately it is impossible to separate Chinese components from our lives but the big flagship wrappers of commerce like cars I can.

I fully support the Ukraine defence against the Russian invasion and look forward to the eventual Russia economic collapse ..... if China is no longer buying Russian oil yet China is draining their funds to buy Chinese cars ..... that no doubt will be supported at around the same level as the UK MG supports its customers, I can't see this being a losing thing, but I do understand the frustration any flip in MG's attitude regarding selling to the Russians ..... but it is not financially supporting the Russians ...... I trust the Ukraine no longer buys anything from the USA after their Commander and chief decided to sell them out to the Russians ..... at the moment, until that crazy is locked up, anything marked "Made in the USA" is firmly in the "Do not Buy" category

When I was choosing a car two years ago, I thought the MG was a very nice and inexpensive car, but the main argument why I bought it was their statement of non-cooperation with the russians... I wouldn't buy an MG4 today.
