Hi can anyone tell me if a special memory card or usb stick is required to update by naviextras?? I have put a usb into infotainment slot and it says its ready to use but then it won't connect to naviextras "toolbox" mg customer care are next to clueless on this one as they say you would have to take the system out to see any sort of model number..appreciate any help..

MG3 HYBRID not listed on Naviextras.
Only Pre hybrid MG3 (2023) listed, so maybe that’s why it doesn’t work. Also may cause damage if incorrect🙈🤷🏻‍♂️
Thanks..does all the software from the car onto the usb and then tells you to use naviextras so no idea what's happening..wish they would just be more forthcoming with info it's like it's a big secret..

After putting the usb stick in the infotaiment and pressing update , then toolbox sees it and seems to download here....
It's taking it's sweet time to install to usb though.....
It says MG3 2023 as device but i certainly have a 2024 MG3 Hybrid+
I used a 16GB stick formatted in FAT32.

I've not needed to use Naviextras for quite some time - it was needed for my old MG6 but with my MG5 I find Google Maps is all I need, and it's free (unlike Naviextras was) - but have you tried first downloading the update to your computer and then transferring the files to your USB? The advantage is that you can also keep a copy of those files to be able to reinstall, should that prove necessary. For me, that "method" seemed to very much speed up the process of preparing the USB stick for the update process.
