I get on with it better.

You would have to connect your phone to Apple CarPlay/Android Auto to use Google maps from your phone.

Get a Bluetooth device which you leave plugged in to the socket,etc on the dashboard. When you get in your car it links your phone automatically.
I use a Cuarko device available from Amazon.
