Say Hello

(y) you can also get 16A portable EVSE's with 16A commando plug - that will give you a charge rate of around 3.8kW on typical UK grid voltage.
The portable CCS unit we bought can be dialled from 6 amps to 16 amps ..... the 16 amps works if that is the only thing on a 15 amp wired circuit from power box to socket because the circuit breaker is actually 16 amps not 15 amps.
That gives a charge rate at the plug of roughly 3.6kw, the vehicle eats a bit, so the maths isn't all that simple, but using 3.5kw as the supply for charging, from 10% to 100% on the MG4 51 works out to around 13 hrs.

If I power it through the Victron inverter and set it to 250vac. then it improves to 4kw, it drops to 11.5 hrs.

Hi all

Picked up my nearly new MG4 64kWh Trophy LR last Wednesday which replaced a VW ID3, which in turn replaced a VW e-Golf, so not an EV newbie.

So far really pleased with the car, finding more comfortable than the ID3, with better driver visibility and slightly longer range.

Welcome , again excellent colour, both a pleasure ( look at me , jealous? ) and a curse . The other day a pukey orange Smart 3 Brabus just had to overtake me , in a stupid manoeuvre, just to prove a point! Ah well , that's where the Ex BMW crowd are heading. Grrrr. it was impressive though!

Congratulations, nice looking car, made me start looking through used MG4s like yours .... o_O I could even find second hand '23 model 51 versions with 20,000kms or more on the clock for what we paid for our '24 51, so they are holding their price at the moment .....

So much wanted to buy an XPower ;):LOL:
