Say Hello

Hi Ladies & Gents,

As a committed petrolhead.
I said I'd never be an EV owner. I figured that I'd probably be worm food before they became mandatory?
But here I am. The proud owner of a brand new MG HS Trophy PHEV in shiny red metallic! 🤗

It's extremely weird, but in a very nice way! It goes like stink (for a lardy SUV) & it's super comfy 🙂

Hopefully we can swap info, & my decision to go partly electric wasn't a mistake? 🤔

Welcome to the forum from another thread
We started out with hybrid in 2014, an ex taxi '08 Gen2 Prius, cost just short of $2,000AUD and had over 600,000kms on the clock. My plan was to experiment with it to try to learn about EV drive units, it was still going up until 12mths ago when I needed front brake pads on a long weekend for the '06 Gen2 I bought after it. That is still the drive hack for picking stuff up and when the wife takes our friend and his dog for the afternoon walks, a Jack Russell that has no sense of car interior preservation
The ex taxi '08 had well over 780,000kms on the clock when it started getting plundered for parts ..... it still went like sh*tte of a shovel, but when we bought the MG4 51, we fully understood the term "That EV Grin"

Having spent over 60 yrs in the mechanic industry, 12 of them as owner of a high performance dyno tuning workshop, I thought I knew what quick off the mark was all about, but the effortless performance of this poverty pack MG4 EV is just so smooth and constant .... until the computer cuts in and says that's enough anyway  Turn 71 soon, so that's a good thing ... sort of, you never grow too old for good performance.
Would love to own an XPower, but for the few hrs my licence would last, I doubt that will ever happen.

There's a nice teal green one here that's very tempting, but the sense circuit keeps cutting in, before I can put any money down.

I just received the first speeding ticket I've had in years, not concentrating on my speed in the my poverty pack MG4. You'd have to take your foot of real quick in an xpower not to go over off the lights

Welcome and Hi,
In life I've found it's good to have an open mind about stuff. That way you don't deprive yourself of great experiences.
There is a bit of a divide here between BEVs and hybrids, don't worry about it, you've just started the journey.
