Say Hello

Would be nice, but doubt it. Hospitals can be worse than council's. 🙄
I was parked in the street opposite. I just happened to clock the charging points in the disabled bays. However, I genuinely couldn't see any option to make a payment?
Having said that @salty, I agree that anything "free" these days is highly unlikely! 🙄

100% @salty,

I'm going into semi EV ownership with my eyes wide open. Knowing full well that I'll be subject to all the usual underhanded taxation that every motorist is.
But if I was one of the first purchasers of an EV. I'd be absolutely fuming now!
I remember reading about the zero road tax & the governments push to get us all out of ICE vehicles. And chuckling to myself about how long that would last.
A mate of mine back then purchased a Nissan Leaf for his wife. And apparently I was a conspiracy theorist for my opinion about what would eventually happen?
I don't refer back to that conversation now, in an attempt to maintain our friendship 😉

I never thought the incentives would last. They were bribery to get the intrepid pioneers to put up with a 70-mile range and 100 miles between chargers. So I'm not bothered now. The car drives like a dream, costs buttons to run, and is really convenient to charge. A few hundred a year extra into the government's coffers isn't going to change that.

And I thank God every night that I didn't buy a hybrid. I am so over the internal combustion engine.

ICE still rules (for now) but a toe dip into electrickery will be interesting for me Rolfe 🙂
When manufacturers develop an EV that sounds like a V8, V10 or V12 I'll be up for the idea mate.
My AMG Merc still runs on dead dinosaurs & I'll never sell it, unless I'm made to do so?
Until then, I'll continue to enjoy the best of ICE with a bit of EV tech on the side, like a mistress 🤗

I never understand the attraction of the noise. The absence of noise is one of the big attractions for me. You know, Daimler and Rolls Royce spent millions trying to get their cars to be as quiet and smooth as the EV does without even trying.

A mate of mine lives in a rough area of Birmingham. He plays merry hell about the "Yoofs" in their loud Mercs & BMW's etc.
I on the other hand wouldn't complain at all. Until about 12 months ago. One of my neighbours had a BMW M4 with the switchable exhaust valve. And I loved to hear it on a cold start up.
As for bikes with a loud exhaust. I don't care what anyone says. Loud pipes definitely do save lives!
It negates the SMIDSY (Sorry Mate I Didn't See You) excuses.

That's why I bought a Volcano Orange X Power! 😉
It wasn't really, I just like the colour. But it must help a bit. 🙂👍
I had to YouTube the X Power.
It's proper RAPID! 😳
But does that give you a massively reduced EV range?
A mate had some kinda Tesla that had an option of something like "Ridiculous" or "Mental" (or something like that?)
It was almost 600cc bike fast in a traffic light Grand Prix. But it ruined his overall range.

Ludicrous was the Tesla, setting.
X Power poor range when hammered, but who the hell cares. 🙂👍
