comfort in uk does not have the heated seats and steering wheelNo, the picture I sent is from a Comfort 43 kWh (latest version 8.1.1), for the Premium the latest version is R29.
In Germany they call this the active trimcomfort in uk does not have the heated seats and steering wheel
Local market options, in Iberia all Comfort builds come with Heated Front Seats + Heated and Leather wrapped Steering Wheelcomfort in uk does not have the heated seats and steering wheel
then i'm confused as to whether there indeed is only one software version or multiple versions.Local market options, in Iberia all Comfort builds come with Heated Front Seats + Heated and Leather wrapped Steering Wheel
Those specific options mean nothing regarding software, as per usual with more recent MGs there are 2 different softwares: LOW and HIGH (regardless of what each market calls the trim levels or included add-ons/optionals). LOW can usually be updated by the dealer through USB with some additional validation steps, while HIGH can only be updated through the diag system connected directly to the car (surely due to additional services validations/activations).then i'm confused as to whether there indeed is only one software version or multiple versions.
and whether the version numbers are specific to the particular market: comfort in uk does not have live services either, so the interface is a bit different. and we saw that with the original MG4 in SE trim vs Premium
are there any release notes about the latest update for the LOW spec? Any Service Campaigns you are aware of? any difference you noticed since upgrading? Those specific options mean nothing regarding software, as per usual with more recent MGs there are 2 different softwares: LOW and HIGH (regardless of what each market calls the trim levels or included add-ons/optionals). Release notes usually only state "Bug fixes", I couldn't have noticed the difference as our cars were already handed to us with the latest software from PDI last week.are there any release notes about the latest update for the LOW spec? Unless you don't complain it's very likely you won't get any updates at all. Most dealers only do them of you complain about a certain thing not working or not working as expected. MG and software updates are a little strange..Little strange software updates aren't done at home. So do the MG dealers just update when taken in for the service every year, of do they ask customers to come in and update?
Oh right, okay, I'll make a point to ask for software updates when I get my yearly service then. Thanks. Yeah a little strange.Unless you don't complain it's very likely you won't get any updates at all. Even then most dealers refuse to provide you with an update. You really have to specify some kind of problem so that they have a reason to update. There might be exceptions, but unless MG isn't having some kind of recall (like SC77 for the MG4 that fixed the LKA) I wish you good luck finding someone that keeps your car up to date with out charging for every single update. In case of the MG4 you can do most of the updates yourself but if you brick your car while doing so, it's very likely your problem as this is not the official way of doing it. The car however is very resistant and plenty people do it. Even when some thing went terribly wrong it was always fixable (as far as I know)Oh right, okay, I'll make a point to ask for software updates when I get my yearly service then. Thanks. If it's a recall it's mandatory, if it's just a TSB based on customer complaint they still get a warranty based fee to perform it. If one lies and the other performs it just report the first one to the brands' customer care and they'll probably be getting a written formal warning. And some dealers also will just straight up lie to you, claiming that there is no update available
MG doesn't care, at least in my experience- They will apologize and what not but nothing is going to changes unless you take matters in to your own hands. Again, there are dealers out there that will help you but the problem is MG themselves: E.G in Germany, dealers only get paid for providing you with an update for your ev if MG approves it. If they just do it (because they like you as a customer) they risk not getting paid for the work done. This is because of the "Agent Sales Model" that MG makes use of for their ev's here. Luckily, it will expire in Germany at the end of this year so then you can start blaming the dealers. No idea how this is in other countries but from I heard from UK owners - service seems to be the same (just got more dealers to choose from). If one lies and the other performs it just report the first one to the brands' customer care and they'll probably be getting a written formal warning.
If it's an official one yes but I think most of these were just internal ones (like the LKA of the MG4 or the issue with 3 Speed automatic transmissions where the car didn't shift properly). In Germany, I still know some people with 3 year old cars that have the LKA issue with the MG4 and just gave up on trying to get it fixed. They just wait for their lease to expire..If it's a recall it's mandatory
