I have done 16000 miles in my 2021 HS Phev - whilst I am a business user, I don't brake particularly heavily and a lot of my mileage is on motorways cruising, so not a lot of stop starting, yet on the first service, there was an advisory of scored brake discs. In my opinion, discs should generally last 50000 miles, so it makes me wonder if the discs are of inferior quality. Was curious to know if anyone else has needed to replace them <50000 miles ?

Hi
Not having a large car before you may have to replace less than 50,000 miles from experience if you get 20,000 you doing good. Is it the same disc as of last time also did they change each side as should be done in pairs and also was it the back or front. I had my car serviced in July and the disc and pads where fine. You may think that you do not use the brakes much but you may do even on the motorways, you done more miles than me same age car. I do town driving most of the week month.

It is all four, they have not changed them, they just advised to replace "sooner rather than later"
To be honest, I doubt they will get looked at again until the 30000 service in around 5 months time - I do around 3000 miles a month. I have driven bigger cars and not replaced discs that quickly - Outlander PHEV, Mazda CX 5, Lexus NX 350 etc

Ok looking at the photos but it’s not all how they look but the ware on the disc, this is done with callipers and there is a scale of ware from new to change the disc. I will look at my discs when I go out to take my car off charge.

I've looked at the video and the scoring is certainly excessive.
As it affects all four and is not in itself a wear issue, I would be minded to think there may be a material defect with the disks and/or pads.

I just taken photo of my disc
Left is the front feel smooth and very little ware.
Right is the back feels a bit more ware and has lip 7500 miles
