Gutted, only had the car a few weeks and managed to catch the wall on reversing out this morning, doesn’t look as bad as it first did now I have cleaned it, but any guess on likely costs to repair?! Got to be worth repairing properly and not a touch up job.

Ouch !.
Doing that would make me feel sick 🤢.
It’s the rear wheel arch, which means the colour will have to be blended into the rear quarter panel of course.

Yeah I take it that adds cost, hope it appears seamless!
It’s standard practice for a good painter tbh.
It’s a small area of damage, but to blend the colour into the qtr and make the repair impossible to spot, it’s a job that takes a bit of time and skill to get 100% correct.
It’s a metallic finish, which just makes colour matching a bit more difficult.

Painful on such a new car so I can see why you'd want to get it back to being as new. Is there any damage to the bumper or is it just the paint?

Our (My) first scrape with the car we needed a new bumper to get ours back to how it should be (the bumper and bracket were broken as well. Spent a lot of money as a result of that carelessness (£1,200).

Later on there was a scuff on the side of our bumper (this time by Pebbles). Didn't get around to doing anything about it.

After a few months someone damaged our car in the car park and we got a whole new bumper from their insurance.

Might seem counter intuitive but get a quote from your dealer too. It'll give you some idea on how competitive the mobile repairer is. You'd know the correct paint colour is used and the corrosion warranty won't be affected. And yes I know it's a plastic bumper but you don't want to give MG a get out clause at a later date.

Isn't it the body panel above the bumper?
