Anyone got any recommendations for a cushion for the driver's seat of the S5? It gets a bit uncomfortable on very long journeys.

Does it stay in place okay? I have seen some that are supposed to be an exact fit for the S5 and they have an elastic band like a fitted sheet to hold them in place.

It has a couple of plastic discs that you push between the seat and the back rest

In what way uncomfortable?
Do you find the seat too firm?

Maybe a bit firm. After a while my legs start to ache, and the back support doesn't seem to be as good as some of my other cars.

Have you adjusted the lumbar support?

I have, although I should probably have another go at it. It's more my legs and bum that get achy after a while. I might try raising the seat up a bit, but I think it's just a bit too hard. I'm used to the Japanese ones that are somehow super comfortable.

We are all different. I find Japanese seats too short but Ford seats suit me.

Similar to Ian above - I went with

I have suffered with lower back pain for years, and found when switching from Kia eNiro to MG S5, that the drivers seat base angle could not be altered so I too was getting pain in bum and legs. By fixing the above UNDER my backside (ie in the seat base, not back) it raised my body and therefore increased the angle between my back to my legs - and the pain is gone.

I find that the seatbelts dig in a bit too, so I got some cushions for those. They aren't the best but they do work for long journeys.

I use one of these from Amazon.

Hi Ian thanks for the recommendation I bought the Amazon seat pads as I have lower back pain. Fitted them yesterday.Only been on short run today but they seem to work well with cushioning effect and will also protect seat .
Thanks for your recommendation

Thanks Chris. I also find by raising the seat in relation to the back rest the lumbar support is in a more suitable place.

I tried to push the discs in but I just couldn't get them to wedge into place. Either I'm not strong enough or I'm doing it wrong. Is there a trick to it?

The other problem I have is my left leg starts to ache because there isn't enough support for it. Does it help with that?

The discs do take a bit of forcing in. I found that pushing them in flat then by lifting the edge nearest you locks them in place.

I have long legs and need the seat all the way back and need it raised up to support my legs but in raising the seat it also moves forward. By using the cushion I didn't need to raise the seat as much so it gave me the leg length I needed.
I have rheumatoid arthritis and also osteoarthritis in my knees and although it doesn't sort all my aches and pains out, it does help.

Thanks for the recommendation. I got one of these and it's pretty good.

I think the problem with my legs is the raised floor. Most skateboard design EVs have this problem. Your knees are raised up a bit and so your legs don't rest on the seat, they rest on your heels.

The cushion helps by raising you up but I could still be another inch I think. Maybe I could have two.

Interesting,I too am going from the eniro the s5 and find the seats softer in the mg, didn't realise I could change seat angle in the Kia, unless you have the top model?

I just wanted a thin cushion and I use an old Ikea chair pad.

I had it in my previous car, but I think they still do something similar, called Bramon. £2.

I've found that moving the chair up as high as it will go, and back a bit, as helped a lot with shoulder and leg discomfort.
