My current car is sick, whilst it was getting some TLC I had a hire car.

For the last 10 days I had a 2023 HS Hybrid Trophy. Whilst I wasnt keen on the dash or steerign wheel, the car really grew on me but the exterior felt a little dated.

The I was walking through the supermarket car park and I see there is a 2025 face lift, which is much nicer.

Looking for some honest advice, feedback, owners tips being considering further. I have just been bitten my known issues with my EcoBoost engine so trying to go into this one with my eyes open

The 2025 HS PHEV. Believe me a a completely new car and NOT a 2020 facelift . I have owned both!
The 2025, so far, has been excellent. Try / test drive one and see for yourself.

I have owned my MG HS 2025 Trophy PHEV for about 3 weeks (bought 6 months old), and I absolutely love it. Incredibly smooth, quiet and comfortable, yet outstandingly quick. Long EV range means vast majority of my journeys are on cheap overnight electricity, so massively reduced fuel costs.
However, both of us are aware that there are several bugs/quirks with the car. If you are after perfection, then the MG is not for you. Go and buy something German and 50% more expensive. However, if you are a pragmatist (and are happy to put up with some 'quirks') then it's all absolutely fine.
Sure, there also seem to be some faulty cars out there (read the forum for some examples) but I guess you get that with every brand/model. So far, I'm thrilled with mine...

Re German cars, they're not fault-free by any means. I know various people with fairly new Mercs who have had major issues (not just software/electrical glitches) including an A35 AMG A-Class that had a failed water pump within 150 miles - but then again the German engine in that (and other Mercs) has relationships with Renault so I understand!

Do you drive in Europe on a regular basis?
If you do, and your current car has LED headlights you are probably familiar with the ability to switch the headlights from left hand dipping to right hand dipping within the on screen menus. This was standard on my Insignias since at least 2013 but none of the MG salesmen I have spoken to have been able to do this.
I've since checked the online manual which says a dealer visit is necessary, but that's not really possible between arriving in the dark in Folkstone and departing from Sandgate, still in the dark.
It looks like we would have to revert to the sticky tape solution.
