Ship carrying SAIC EVs on fire :(

An EV blanket for each EV loaded on the ship and covering each EV. A refundable charge on each EV blanket that still has a non burnt EV under it when unloaded at the dock.

I presume that's tongue in cheek. If not a tad, OTT. 😉🙂👍

But it would kill the "EV's cause fires" BS eh ;) If the blanket is burnt on the outside and not on the inside, we could start a "ICE vehicles start ship fires" payback attack ..... "ICE vehicle should be banned for transport by ship"

And, don’t forget - these ships are ICE in a massive filthy way too !

Might be a while before those monsters run on batteries, although the solar sail idea seems to work .... so maybe we will see ES on the side of one of these monsters one day ..... I've been down in the engine room on a few of the big BHP fleet ships, they are big engines .....

Monsters - technically beautiful - but monsters !

Especially the ones that have exhaust valves rather than piston port exhaust blower scavenger design. The early Sulzer piston port and exhaust driven scavenger blower engines were .... crude I guess is the better term, the size of the injectors on those things was something you had to see to believe.
The newer 2 stroke engines with timed exhaust valve opening were a work of art, no bank of V16 4 stroke diesels on a mid deck to provide the electrical power required, a massive alternator on the prop shaft when underway and I guess shore power otherwise ....
