Snow Mode! What does it do?

It's a good job there are helpful members like @MG Clive @Everest and @Kegbuster to give useful replies 🙄

Meanwhile have a look at this thread where the question has already been discussed.

Thanks for the posting of other members but it only partially answered my questions.
Been mechanically minded is it just another name for traction control where it locks the differential to give all wheel driving (RWD only) also is the power reduced to stop over throttling once snow mode is engaged. I just like to get my head round the mechanics and not just press the button so when I have to explain it to the wife what it dose I don't have to answer fudge knows!

Snow mode engages 4WD on the X Power and reigns in the power delivery, so in theory you start off nice and gently, which is what you want in Snow. I'm presuming in RWD models it just reigns in the power. Which in most conditions will be ok. Don't think there's any Black Magic involved. 😉🙂👍

Right.....the latest......
Took the car out this morning very icey and gave the car a full ice and snow experience. My my verdict is it was good with the snow mode engaged and driving to the conditions of the weather. would advise people to uses it in snow & ice conditions. It locks the regen in number 1,braking and power were good just need to adapt you driving accordingly for the weather, not bomb about as normal

One of my old vehicles had an ABS disable button, which was great for use in snow. Much better, IMHO to lock the front wheels and let them dig into snow than detect a bit of slippage and release the brakes. But, hey ho, I haven't seen that on a car in the last 20+ years :( And I doubt snow mode disables ABS, but happy to be proved wrong.
