I’m wondering how long does the recovery insurance on my MG last (SOS Button).
Does it renew every time the car is serviced so it’s 7 years because of the warranty?
I’m asking because I’m thinking of getting breakdown insurance.
Is it worth getting the breakdown insurance or just rely on the SOS button?

The MG Assist breakdown is provided by the AA the details of which can be downloaded here. It is renewed every 12 months when you have the car serviced by an approved MG dealer.

The SOS button connects you to the emergency services (Police, ambulance, fire) not the breakdown service.

For those without service history or whatever, Breakdown Insurance can be had very cheap using the comparison sites. Don't bother with the AA or RAC or even Green Flag. I have had perfectly satisfactory cover in the past with randomly named ones on these sites in the past ((they are usually backed by some major insurance company).
Was talking to my niece about it last week as she was considering getting cover but it was expensive for her under her work scheme. Mysteriously she had never thought about using a comparison site (I couldn't believe such people still existed !!!).
Anyway she looked and bought full UK cover, home, onward travel, etc etc for the princely annual price of .......ta da ... £15. No excess, unlimited call outs - do watch out for those catches when looking.
For my nephew who was also there his was quite expensive, possibly due to different address or car at £20.
Happy hunting.
