Received my MGS5 luxury long range today. First problem was that the speed recognition was impossible to turn off. The options could be removed but the warnings continued. Will contact my MG dealer tomorrow. Has anyone else had such errors so early?

I just update my own posting: The "problem" is solved. I got info from a local fb group that these warnings must be turned off 2 places, navigation AND mg pilot. I did not know about the navigation place...

Does it stay turned off if you disable it from the Navigation page?
Yes i does stay off. In the attached pic there is two options, the upper turns the voice off, the option below (120%) turns the voice off until you drive 20% above the speed limit.

Hi,
Are you referring to the repeated overspeed announcements, for example "the speed limit is 40 miles per hour" in my UK version.
The message was repeated about once every km, and was driving me nuts.
I finally delved into MG's navigation menu, then Settings, Alarms, and cancelled them that way.
Now I enjoy blissful silence when I'm marginally over the speed limit.
I hope this works for you, too.

Thanks for your answer but i think i have this sorted out. You can see the older posting in this tread.

Thanks. Now I just need to figure out how to permanently disable driver monitoring and perhaps I'll be able to enjoy some actual silence...

You can set that up in MG Pilot as a profile, but you have to select it (a swipe and two button presses) every b***y time when you start.

Hi do they stay off and you switch the car off and turn it back on again ?

Great idea, as long as its accurate, but it is not, so you end up getting warnings erroneously .
As long as it tells me when I am actually over, I'm fine with the odd occasion it tells me I am over when I am not ( eg reading turn off road speed limits). I just ignore those .The only ones I have set to turn off on the custom MG Pilot setting are the not paying attention ones or you are tired ones as they sometimes just keep going off when wearing sunglasses. I've not even turned off the LKA assist as it's not caused any issues. Though I do tend to signal all moves anyhow. I only tend to turn on the MG pilot custom if it starts getting in a hissy fit about not paying attention. Otherwise I just drive it as it came.

I think the S5 speedo is pretty accurate. We have a local speedwatch group and have SiDs at various places (not all the time as the SiD is moved around). At 20 and 30 mph speeds, the speedo is spot on. My E-Pace speedo read 10% over at a SiD indicated speed of 30mph. I've been told that the SiD calibration is as good as the speed guns that the police use.

The main problem is the S5 camera picking up the lower side road speed signs, making the robot woman shout at you 😁.

I wonder if anyone actually drives with the "pay attention" and "take a break" features active. I forgot to apply MG Pilot one morning last week and it drove me nuts, just on the half mile trip to the supermarket
