Well, the ZS EV went a few weeks ago & I‘ve been looking in from time to time. The Zoe 50 has finally arrived so I’ll be spending more online time at the Zoe forum than here - for obvious reasons. I’ll still look in as my Son & DIL have just ordered a ZS EV Exclusive, so it looks like they will be getting my old type 2 charge cable and spare wheel for Xmas ?. So far so good with the Zoe, a steering wheel that doesn’t clunk, a better heater with no condensation, an app with pre-conditioning, heated steering wheel, OTA updates and superb LED headlights. I will miss the sunroof though. Average consumption in the few days we’ve had it has been 4.8 and it charged FOC @ 22kW in Tesco whilst we shopped.

The new ZS EV Gen2 face lift model will address most of the issues raised by the customers of the original Gen 1 model, I think ?.
They will be welcome changes, but some owners may feel it is a little too early to upgrade their previous cars.
Trapped in by PCP or Lease deals over three or four years, switching early means you will need to consolidate your existing deal, increasing term or payments.
Residuals are stronger at the moment, so switching out is very tempting I know.

Thanks - yes, I’m aware of the benefits of the Gen2. The key issues for us changing are not the reasons cited, but a combination of the ZS EV being a fraction bigger than the Mrs is happy with and the range. She’s happy enough when I’m driving and we have to recharge somewhere, but essentially, the car would start “bleating” about range roughly 100 miles into a journey. We regularly do trips which are 140 miles or more & although I’d be happy with a quick top-up en route, it was something that she really wasn’t happy with. I know Gen 2 would have solved all our issues - except the size. She came to the ZS from a Corsa 5 door, so the Zoe really is the ideal EV for her. I might be in the market for something in a couple of years to replace my trusty diesel Mondeo which I expect to be my last ICE car - so will have to see how MG and the EV market in general develop in that time frame. ?
