Static leakage

For once this is not about Mg4 gearbox mishaps but are EVs in general less or more likely to give you a wack of static electricity when you exit the car.
Or at least we would hope its static and not some crossed wiring!
How would you reduce its impact apart from letting your wife or least favourite child exit the car first?
 
An EV will be no better or worse than any other car for this.
Grounding straps used to be popular at one time.
 
I think that's it, it isn't necessarily the car which generates the static, it just becomes a convenient earthing point for you and your clothing.
 
I used to work as a foam converter:eek:, basically cutting blocks of foam into cushions and all other shapes for sofas.:ROFLMAO:

At finishing time you would see the workers tapping/slapping the top of the door/roof with their hands,to get rid of the static.
If you forget it would catch you out😩

Those were ICE days, i haven't done that job in decades and since having my MG5 i've never experienced any static charge.
