Jumped after the service report on my 60k mile MG4 trophy this morning and will pick up a new red MG5 S5 on Thu afternoon.

Happy with the deal, excited to continue with MG and looking forward to the higher seating, plusher seats and all round bigger, more comfortable car.

The insights on this forum have been invaluable in settling the decision!

Interesting... My mind boggles... What did they say in the "service report"? Was it something like...

"Sorry Sir, but your old, high-mileage, MG4 is all worn out and it's going to cost you a fortune to maintain in the future and if you don't do anything it will fail on Friday, but... oh-look, we have a shiny new MGS5 in our showroom that we can go the extra mile and get it to you on Thursday, before your MG4 implodes and we're all doomed"?

Ha, no ... Tyre, wish bone (they maybe connected to an incident with a kerb!?!) and brake discs.... All roughly expected but hoped to avoid until later in the year.

60k miles in 2.5 years takes its toll. Only costs have been a new set of all season tyres at 38k miles so it has been a decent runner.

There were two different conversations and totally separate in the dealership. In fact, they didn't tell the salesman about the faults (I stayed quiet), he only found out after the deal was agreed on all sides... Smiles all round in the end though.
