This was a result of a post here MGS5 - Underrated ..... so don't blame me if you nod off and fall off your chair ......

This was a salvage auction buy from Canberra, electrical problem, but they lost the dongle somewhere between the auction yards and the transport yards ..... so it is waiting for me get my head around just how to solve the problem ......

This is the Winnie when we bought it roughly 12 mths ago, this is the "house" now and is parked on the concrete slab in Mannum South Australia after the workshop and later the house burnt to the ground.
In front of it is the '06 iTech gen2 Prius that was written off after the traction battery went up in flames, bought it back cheap and put it back on the road. It has around 380,000 kms on the clock at the moment and is now the run around car.

I can stop at any time, just say the word

Now you've dunit, just have a visit from the council, we can no longer live here on a workshop block, nor can I put the 2 x 40 ft containers with the 12 mtr x 12 mtr dome over it, nor have the vehicles here, nor can I move to the house block ..... so ....... Up the shitte creek with out even a boat, forget about a paddle .....

I'm kinda picturing you kept in suspenders .... could be that I'm on my 4th double + Jack Daniels on ice ... not even sure I spelt it correctly .... so I beg forgiveness all round ;):LOL:

We have had a weekend between the visit for the Gestapo council rep so to date, we have heard no more .... in between times, we have been doing the interweb search thing looking for alternate places to relocate .... and naturally, having the expected marital conflict ..... yet to see if I'm out on my butt yet again, or just what happens ....... always conducive to a good night sleep as you can imagine
.......

Wow, I'm still alive and still married for the moment. We have looked at a lot of houses, all ludicrously over price for what they are and every one is a real estate agency staged photo shoot, we have a game at the moment of spot the repeat piece of furniture  even some of the floor rugs are on repeat, but just about every place has a wood fire brazier, complete with fire burning in it ..... and the same brazier ..... they must think home buyers are stupid or something ..... some of them absolutely insult the intelligence for what is being offered and the price with fancy antique looking furniture set up in ridiculous room staged scenes .... naturally, they are the ones Margaret has fallen in love with and that hasn't eased the marital tensions in the slightest .....

Today, we had a visit with the house builder rep, he eased the tension a bit by confirming we would be at the move in stage 2 yrs from when we paid the deposit a week or so back .... time is a bit of a rubber band type flexible thing at the moment .......

The Winnie needs a water pump on the V10 engine ..... checked out a few You Tube US videos regarding getting that far into the engine this bloke really likes to talk, so a 2x speed through to a few spots that show what the front looks like and what it looks like once they get to the front of the engine ...... I think I'll need to order in a few more bottles of Jack Daniels if I'm gunna take that on ......

Then it comes to the council gestapo agent, haven't heard a word and once I start pulling the Winnie to pieces, it's not going to be going anywhere for a while ........

There are few loopholes I found in the council regs, there is a state wide 7 yr rule, if the council hasn't taken action on something they deem to be outside the terms of use for the property within that 7 yr period, tough luck, they can't force any actions after that 7 yr period.

We have a 20 ft container in the yard that has been used for storage since we moved it here .... just found a video of it being unloaded off our truck with a crane and placed beside the workshop ...... time dated 20160804 ...... that's more than 7 yrs it has been on the block for the purpose of storage ......

Still have the drama of living here, once the Winnie is back to driveable, we will have to move around a bit I guess ...... but I think they may have problems if we return here every so often to do repairs over the next few yrs, till the house is built ........

So, the Aussie version of a Winnie A Class on a US F53 chassis with the V10 6.8 ltr fitted, is not the same as the US version it seems.
Took me a week and a half to get the pump out, judging by the post dates, seems a lot longer than that

Do you want photos? Don't want the short trip to the back door and it slam on my butt on the way out ..... o_O

Wow Terry , the council person seems to have no compassion at all. Just a "these are the rules" person.
If they turn up and you are there with your van, just tell them you are just doing some work on the van and give some fictional address where you live.
You should be able to give them the run around for a few years that way.
I am sure there are some limits on how long people are supposed to live on their land in caravans etc. Most councils should have a permit system in place to allow you to stay on your own land.
Good luck with the Winnie repairs, that sounds like a major chore.
I lived in illegal dwellings for over 40 years, never had any problems with councils. Keep your head low, live your life and all should be fine.

Small town of locals, we are well known, especially when you make the news twice regarding a catastrophic fire.
I think the Gestapo council inspector might have stepped outside his boundary and motivated by someone who thinks we would be desperate enough to sell the property cheap ..... that is never going to happen.
We lock the gate now, so they will need to make an appointment if they wish to visit again, but so far, no email or formal letter has been received yet .....
Heard from another business owner, that a council employee or inspector, can not lodge a complaint, it must be a rate payer, so that even rules out the renters .......
