Glad I shop online

I do too. 5 minutes on a Sunday morning in the warm and it gets delivered a couple of days later.

I can see both sides.

I know you don't have to drive out and queue etc...I mean, I do a lot of buying online as I can't just nip out in the car like I used to.

But I like to food shop in person as you can pick the fruit and veg yourself and you also don't end up with ridiculous substitutions.

When I do on line shop I specified gluten free and have had swapped food containing gluten which I've sent back

My best substitution story dates back to my workshop days. Ordered 8 brake seal cups, yes we have those, they will be out on the next delivery, disassemble the brakes, remove the brake cyls and hone them, ready for the delivery, 7 of the correct brake cups, and one completely wrong, not even close ..... On the phone, I'll just check with the picker ..... yeah, there were only 7 cups in the box so they added one from another box to make up the number count Probably how they ended up with only 7 cups in a box that was supposed to contain 8 units ..... 3 days wait to get the last cup from interstate .....
The hoist is now out of service, the business that was hoping to pick their truck up that afternoon were not terribly happy about it, especially because we could have rebooked the job for the following week if we had known not all the parts were available .......

The saddest substitution story I heard about was a cat owner who ordered a cat flea treatment and got sent the dog version. I don't know if she didn't notice or something, but the cat died.

Tesco was found not to be at fault, which was ridiculous as these products are on the "pharmacists and merchants list" which requires sellers to dispense responsibly.

Yes, they distributed Waitrose for their first 20 years. Then (since 2020), is a joint venture with M&S. So full range of M&S products as well as Ocado own-brand items
