Maybe asked before in other words, so apologies if I repeat an existing topic…

I have a formatted USB thump drive, insert in in my MG3 Hybrid+
I go to Navigation/settings
I choose Update
It now prepares the usb drive, when done it displays open it on your computer in naviextra app
Back at the pc I mount the usb drive and start Naviextra app;

Nothing happens… it does not see the stick as a valid one to update it seems…?

Any ideas?

MG no longer use Naviextra for map updates, despite various indications that they do. Maybe the dealer can do it for you; you'll need to check with them. The inbuilt sat nav is useless, and I would strongly suggest you use CarPlay or Android Auto, which provide you with up-to-the-minute updates on your journey.

I don’t find it so bad, it is very clear with exits for instance and road signs. But I do have my Carplay with Waze, Google maps, Apple maps (that is really bad by the way!) but it constantly draws on the battery of my iPhone (wired even).

Hi Aakopen. The inbuilt sat nav will not show current road closures or road changes or warn you of hazards ahead. Whereas a phone-connected sat nav, such as Android Auto, is designed for this specific purpose.
Regarding battery draw, I can't speak for the iPhone, as I use a Samsung phone, which does charge up whilst still using the sat nav, so the phone battery can be full after a couple of hours' journey.
