On Wednesday, the Chancellor will present his Spring Statement where we all hope that some extra relief will be given to the hard pressed population in these troubled times. Many are hoping for a reduction in fuel duty or VAT on fuel that will alleviate the gradual rise in costs of anything transported by road and also by all those ICE drivers!
This will not help all us EV drivers who still have to pay 20% VAT on the electricity provided by public chargers, whereas that supplied to the home is at a rate of 5%!
C’mon Rishi! Let’s see the tax reduced to 5% on the electricity that we get if having to use a public charger. Do all you can to make driving an EV more attractive, not just helping us out but possibly encouraging more ICE owners to switch to the more environmentally friendly vehicle!
