I've mentioned in other threads and posts that I have had a few issues with my car since I bought it from a dealer last October. First, the Sat Nav has an issue where it often switches on, if I'm stationary, to show a previous location on the map. It will not update until I start to drive. The MG dealer has been good and had the car in several times (6, for that issue alone, all single days) but have not managed to cure the problem. On the last occasion they changed the centre screen head unit, as advised by MG. Not only did this not fix the issue, but it messed up my 360 cameras and everything was distorted. This especially affected the overhead view and I could see my own number plates enlarged in front and behind the car, and everything was twisted. If I used the front and rear cameras "straight ahead" on the camera was actually about 30 degrees to the right when I looked out of the window! After I advised them about this, they said they would get my old unit back and I assumed they would refit that, as well as investigate the Sat Nav more. They asked for a 5 day booking with the car. This happened last week. I also advised them I experienced the well known hill climb issue a few weeks ago, as mentioned elsewhere on this forum, and also the knocking from the rear that so many people get. They said they would deal with all this. I even sent them a link to the relevant videos on here about fixes for the hill climb issue.

I collected the car yesterday and was told they were still unable to complete all issues as the car had been in and out of the garage, testing stuff and feeding back to MG. There were still things to try with the Sat Nav, and they had been unable to complete the fix they say MG has issued a bulletin on, regarding the knocking in the rear. Would I let them know what the Sat Nav was like, and if the camera was fixed? They had done updates regarding the uphill and hybrid software. On driving the car away, one thing I noticed instantly was the mileage was the same as when I dropped it off. How were they supposed to test the Sat Nav when thy didn't drive it away from the garage to see if it showed the new location on starting up the navigation? The head unit hadn't been changed, it still showed my Sat Nav favourite for my holiday a few weeks earlier and therefore the cameras were still the same. However, one so far good point. The car seems to rev higher when going up hills now, i witnessed 3200 rpm whereas I rarely went over 2400rpm previously, but I do seem to spend longer on EV mode. Last night we went for a drive, and on the way back I did 10 miles on open road, and the mpg was recording 99.9!! The last 3 miles were through town, and on arriving at home, it was still showing 85.6! That's a LOT higher than I have ever had before. The miles left in the fuel tank, 161, didn't change over the whole journey. (actually it went up to 162 at one point).

So they want the car back in again so I'll keep you updated if the hill climb issue has gone, if mpg stays high, and if they fix the knocking and the navigation.

I still love the car though!

Would be very useful if you could get some details regarding the supposed fix for the "hill climb issue"- I guess there must be some sort of reference number for the software update. This so I can get the dealership to check if my car needs the update.

I'll see what I can get when I speak to them next. In another thread on this forum someone posted a video that talked about a fix, and I emailed the garage the link to this video before I went. It seems they have done something, but out today I've noticed the car revs a lot more on hills, even small ones, than it ever did before. Over revving is something else that gets moaned about a lot, so maybe I've now gained that!
