The Ultimate IM5 "Real World" Energy Consumption Thread

Folks as the title says, just the same as the S5 thread are you all able to post your monthly averages (along with the model type)
Very curious to see what people are getting, and not to have a pop.
You are becoming awfully responsible these days... are you now part of the establishment here? 😉

Depends what happens this month but the banter is good!

It's definitely one of the better EV forums, the born one is boring, as the car is so good nobody is complaining about anything😉

Tell me then, if Cupras are so great, why do they not sell better in the UK? Looking at market share, MG has 4% and Cupra has only 2%. Is there a good reason for this?

Summary from a group test review

The Cupra Born offers a more premium feel, sharper driving dynamics, and nicer interior materials, while the MG4 provides significantly better value, often costing thousands less for comparable range/performance, especially in XPower trim, though its interior quality is a step down, making the choice between premium driving experience (Cupra) or value (MG4).

Took my IM5 LR on it's first long drive today, a 295 mile round trip from Loughborough to Bath and back. Started at 100% charge, drove 'around 😉' the limit most of the time on the M5, not being too stingy with the blower and still had 54 miles of range left when I got back home and showed an average consumption of 3.6ml/kwh.

So, on a cool day (3 to 10°C) without any real effort to be frugal, it showed it could do a range of 350 miles. I'm very confident of getting over 400 miles out of it, even in winter, with a bit of care.

Compared to the MG4 trophy which I've had for over 3 years it's in a totally different league - a proper motorway animal. Very little wind noise and little discernable increase in consumption with high speeds.

That's very good.

That is enough range for me.

Fantastic. Worst thing about my MG4 is excessive road and wind noise at motorway speeds and the average-to-poor ride.

In comparison, one thing I noticed is that the Energy Recovery seems more efficient, yet somehow the braking effect doesn't seem as strong, so I think there's been major development in that area. I always used max recovery in the MG4 and am doing the same in the IM5

No problems fast charging at the local Ionity charger. Over 310kw charging rate
