Just been told my 72 plate ZS EV LR Trophy Connect is only now worth £18-19k trade in, less than a year old only 5500k on the clock, less than the outstanding finance on it.

I suspect that will be a trade in price from the dealer ?.
When the over inflated EV price bubble burst, it left a lot of dealers holding stock on the forecourt that they had over priced.
Moving these cars became difficult and expensive.
As such they are now super cautious when offering valuations and it is reflected in the low offers they are now making.

Yes, a Renault dealer, I was there waiting for wife’s car to be serviced & was just curious to see what they would offer.

Yet if you look at Autotrader they would cost you about £28k for such a one year old used car.

Dealers want/need £4k/5k margin on every sale - so their quote is not too outlandish given the recent depreciation history of EVs
