I was happy to find that the Infotainment system was able to manage.flac as well as .MP3 files on a usb stick but we've found that whenever we start the car, it reverts to playing in shuffle mode rather than normal sequential mode as it was last left. Any way to fix this?

Just to add, last going off it decided to format my usb stick. Empty (although undeletable) and now has an Android system folder on there with data, media folders etc. Quirks eh?

Edit. After redoing some music on the stick and leaving the directories on there that the car system had created, it now seems (albeit with not much testing) that the always in shuffle when starting bug has now been fixed. Perhaps it needs its own file structure initially to work properly ? Not sure if it also continued playing from where it left off rather than starting the last track again...

I.e. perhaps start with an empty usb stick, allow it to do what it needs and then copy your music to it afterwards...?

Sounds interesting. How did you format it? Is that an option that pops up somewhere? When you then added music did you add it to the media folders it created, or just load it alongside?

That's the thing, I didn't, it just blanked it itself. Perhaps it became corrupt and it did the job and then trying to access the music that was no longer there may have added the folders? I'm not sure.

I just know that it was a stick full of music in their own directories that, for whatever reason, it just decided to delete or quick format and then, when I checked the stick, a new android folder had been added with a couple of sub folders and a couple of music related index files, was also the standard android .nomedia file in at least one sub directory so it was set up as an android system storage drive.

I just added some music folders back to the root of the stick, alongside the android folder rather than inside it and checked it worked okay then found that the shuffle and restart issues seem to have also been fixed.

...I spoke too soon :( I know what it's doing now, it's not starting off in shuffle mode but it does so in play every track on the stick mode, ignoring artist/album folders. It does that taking all tracks alphabetically by track name.

I was thrown off because the album it was last playing didn't have proper track names in the meta data and were audio track 1, audio track 2 so, alphabetically played in sequence. As soon as I tried another album that is tagged correctly, back to playing them seemingly random but, what is effectively by track name.

So, the only solution would be to mass edit the meta data of all content track names to be artist/album or year/track number - song title so that even if played as all tracks, it is done so respecting albums and track order.

It is one of the most annoying bugs in the system. I now use Android Auto and my Amazon Music streaming account instead. Hopefully this is something that will get fixed in a future software update.
