I've just taken delivery of a 74 plate ZS Hybrid+. I have inserted a dongle to enable wireless Android Auto.
Is it ok to leave the dongle in. My last MG was a 1970 MGB, I didn't have to worry about that sort of thing.

We have ours in all the time....But this creates a problem, because when the car for some reason or another, powers on while parked and locked, the dongle is powered up and snags the bluetooth, so if i am in the middle of a conversation, suddenly the conversation is "in the car".

If i go back to speaker, it sometimes snags the bluetooth again 10 seconds later.

Hmadsen, that sounds like it might be the dongle so maybe try another.

I am using a Smart Box in my ZS and have set it up so it runs stand alone without and phone being connected.

When I lock the car it shuts down the head unit but still leaves the USB voltage on which takes about 5 minutes to time out then all goes to sleep until I access the car again. The power to the head unit and USB is controlled by some smarts in the ECU.

I have the Mini Cube 3. When I lock the car it all shuts down without any delay. Head unit turns off and the light goes out on the Mini Cube.
