Voice button on the left side of steering wheel

I just purchased a MG HS Trophy PHEV 2023 and cannot seem to get the voice button on the left-hand side of the steering wheel to work. Any ideas what this voice button does?

I think it only works in conjunction with Android auto/Apple car play. If I am wrong someone will correct me......

Correct. The steering wheel buttons aren't documented very well in the Navigation manual. On my 2022 model, the voice button is on the right hand side of the steering wheel. When your phone is connected via cable and android auto is in operation, you can press the voice button to activate Google assistant on the phone. I don't use it so I have no idea how good or bad it works.
