Not an MG
I found this online, obviously done with AI and I liked the look of it.
Before anyone says anything this is not a massive pop at the S5 or S6 I am sure you all like your cars but in my opinion I find them a bit Chinese generic EV SUV (bit blobby/vanilla)

I think one of the strong points of the MG 4 is that it's a bit different angular and slightly more aggressive/sporty looking!

This pic has obviously used an MG 4 to make an SUV.

Yep that's nice. But does it really look much different to MGS5. Slightly sharper, perhaps. 🤔
Pretty much all Chinese EVs and indeed any EV look the same. 2 particular examples spring to mind. Tesla Model 3
and the MG IM5 also the Geely EX5 and MGS5. You will get the odd exception, as in the Cyberster for example. But in general they are all similar. 🙂👍

I think the slightly sharper is the positive, they are generic blobs at the minute
I like cars that try to be a bit different, a few suvs below that are, none will be mistaken for anything else

Tavascan
Renault scenic
Enyaq coupe

Totally agree, I like cars to be different, looking. As you say the MG4 for example.
There are definitely to many similar looking cars on the road. Hats off to any manufacturer who dares to be a bit different. 🙂👍

Eww.. not keen on that drooping rear end (ugly IMHO a-la Merc CLA / Chrysler Crossfire)...

Even in Hyundai's own web site, it shows a picture of a potential thief in his beanie, taking a second look at the Ioniq 6, walking away and thinking 'nah'.

I'm sure the generic'ness is to do with aerodynamics as well as mass production.
Also Chinese tastes, since the MG4 did not sell at all well in China.

The more aggressive look (e.g. Cupra) seems to go down well in Europe but they are moving in a more blobby direction in China.

This has Cupra Formentor vibes, I like it.

I agree but it's boring (in my opinion) the mg4 had various faults but was brave and different design wise.
It's hard to tell some cars apart now

I think it is a shame the MG4 didn't take off in the China. There is still nothing like it on the road and the newer MGs do look much more conventional.

I don't know that it was looks that was the problem but they threw out the looks with the newer models.

Some elements remain, of course, and there is a family resemblance, but I suppose if you want maximum sales you go for generic looks.

i still think the newer MGs are better looking than most, though, there are some horrendous boxy blobs on sale.

Not really a fan of the Kia styling other than maybe the EV 6.
Skoda elroq I quite like, enyaq coupe.

Cupras are all decent, all very angular now rather than blobby

Renault have done a good job the 5 is nice and retro and the Mégane and scenic don't resemble anything else.

VW seem to be learning the ID Polo looks like a polo.

The new ID 4 is going to be a Tiguan and looks more like one

Yes, new generation of VW/Cupra/Skoda products are looking much better.

New ID.POLO I really like the look of, Raval looks nice, Skodas more conventional but still attractive.

Renault are going more the individualistic route with cars resembling retro vehicles, but it very effective.

I am a bit torn, I am a small car man at heart but I loved the big jag I once owned - so somewhat torn between IM5 and Polo/Raval at the moment... but plenty of time and will be interesting to see if MG2 will be up to snuff: going to be hard for MG to compete here I think.

I'm looking forward to having a look at the Raval, prefer a smaller car now myself and to say if that had come first then wouldn't have needed the Born sounds like it might be reasonably spacious for a smaller car.

Interesting what you say about the MG 2 as instead of MG being ahead of the competition this time they will be launching the 2 into a really competitive segment with the R5/alpine, ID Polo Raval Kia EV2 etc already out before it
