What annoys me about the IM6

I have news, posted at length in the General forum, but OTA updates for the UK are arriving from new year, with the IM vehicles to be the first to receive them, other MG vehicles later.

I don't know about other markets.

Let's hope that the first update resolves the lack of headlight auto dim and maybe increases the regeneration braking.

I got my IM6 last July, and one of the three included ‘Scenes’ was labeled Pet. It set the car up with proper ventilation and cooling to keep a pet healthy. A glaring omission was the lack of a message on the display including the internal temperature. But I digress. Some time during August, that scene disappeared. That was obviously an update result. There is only the ‘Rainy Night’ scene available now. Recently, my door handle lock/unlock process is working a LOT better than a couple of weeks ago. Another update perhaps? The lock function went from NEVER working with any part of my hand waved or pressed on every part of the handle, to working almost instantly every time now. The unlock process went from working, but very slowly and seemingly reluctantly, to working almost instantly, similar to the locking process. I haven’t noticed any other functional changes so far.

Usually when the car updates based on my experience with both Tesla and BYD you get a notification that a patch has become available, the car will download it and then you get asked to run it through and install it.
It is not unheard of small patches (corrective ones) to be download and tweak problematic functions with car though without following the previous described process.
In your case evets it seems that something across these lines occurred. A bit surprised though with the removal of pet mode.
