Ok, humour me, this could go no where, but today I like many may have been out cutting the grass and it hit me, I'd switched to an electric lawnmower and trimmer a couple of years ago as I was fed up plugging in the extension lead and trying to avoid cutting the bloody cable that was being dragged behind me like Marley's Chain.

My question is, what other things in your life run on rechargeable battery packs, not on batteries I'm on a 2 point warning and don't want any more, but being of an age where you plugged things in but now don't, what you got?

In my case:

Vacuam cleaner
Lawn Mower
Strimmer
Hammer drill
Screw driver
Saw
Inspection light

So what else is out there?

Last time I got on a plane I had to put a ridiculous amount of stuff in my hand luggage because of this, and I still forgot the electric toothbrush.

2 power banks
2 cameras
phone
CO2 meter
Kindle
iPod
book light
torch
bluetooth earphones
probably more stuff that has slipped my mind

Of course I didn't have the electric bike with me!

Lawn mower
Vacuum cleaner
Hammer drill
Drill/driver
Impact driver
Impact wrench
3/8" Ratchet
3" Rotary polisher/sander
5" Dual action polisher
Multi tool
Jigsaw
Several head torches
Screwdriver
Precision screwdriver
Dremel clone

Think that's it.

I moved all my garden tools to batteries.

We moved from 1/3 acre plot in Bucks with a field hedge and beech hedge on a steep slope to a modern house with a large but flat garden and fences in Suffolk.

A great move as they all start instantly and the solar charges them

I also have my Noco GB40 jump starter pack and in fact I’ve just recharged it using last night’s off peak power and a wee drop of the Applecross solar harvested yesterday morning before I packed up. The Noco was handy as a rechargeable light and as a power bank for what little signal my phone could find.
I have an inspection camera a bit like a colonoscopy unit except I used it to look into hot water cylinders to check all was well.

My son’s just bought himself a fancy compressor unit to couple up to all four tyres of his Ineos Grenadier to allow him to deflate them to 17psi for soft sand in the desert and reinflate to 35psi for normal use. Not sure if it’s a self contained rechargeable battery or fed from the car. He mentioned that he’s ordered a NATO standard plug to fit no the bumper for the compressor.
Anyway I also have a rechargeable nose hair trimmer and the hair clippers that my wife used to trim my beard and what about my nail trimmer which is rechargeable and beats clippers out of the park.
My ryobi long reach hedge trimmer uses the same ryobi battery but I can’t use it for very long as it gets pretty unwieldy pretty quickly.
I’ve a little rechargeable air pump for inflating air beds and pillows etc.
