I used to work with a bloke who came from Cumbria and his mother told him she was out in the car when he was a toddler and saw a bright flash in the sky , which unbeknown to her was the Pan Am Jumbo jet exploding over Lockerbie

Same as my Niece , she's 32 been married 7 years in may has 2 kids one is 6 1/4. the other is 2 1/2

But what really drives it home, is when you try to sail further than your mate that's 2 years older. He's got 50Km up but I can only do 30. 12 years ago I did 10 times that!

Had a good session yesterday. improved the nautical mile by a knot, which didn't help, I need another knot or 2). Improved the distance 10km, and moved up 1.
I was hoping for the 50km, but the wind really kicked in and I was buggered and in survival mode, so went with sensible option and left it to another day. 105km will need a very special day, very easy sailing and all day wind, so I can have recovery breaks. doesn't happen often.
Current 81 year old rankings for Nautical mile and distance.,

You look at photo of brothers and sisters of the ex and say they look really old, and your 42yr old daughter from the second marriage laughs ...... and you realise you might actually be older than the ones in the photo .....
