I've always loved the word "accompanied" when talking about food. It always makes me chuckle.

[In an 80s gameshow host voice]
"Tonight, Ian, accompanying your pie in the journey through your digestive system are buttered leeks and roasted root veg!"

Margaret's special fried rice. Half the value is watching the preparation, if kitchen sinks were easier to cut up, I'm sure that would go in there as well ..... the spice mixing requires a cup to blend it all in .... sadly, no mushrooms, and I love mushrooms .... even though that is sure way to scare anyone off trying your latest recipe over this way

@Archie... the Boar's Head has just nicked @Ian Key's supper out of his air-fryer :eek:
It still beats my cop out last night 😱😱
I had a wonderful lunch with my Daughter and my Granddog in the Taste delicatessen in Linlithgow. A rather tasty home made burger with Brie, salad and coleslaw.
So, after having a great but all too infrequent meet up, I didn’t need much of a dinner last night.
After a walk I gave the Berlingo a fright by washing it with the power washer when I returned.
A search of the “emergency tins” cupboard produced the oldest can of soup in my inventory. I was amazed to find it complied with my strict, near enough, food rotation regime. The can was marked for consumption by this very month. It turned out to be Hienz chicken noodle and was perfectly “accompanied 🤣” by a thick slice of my bread machine’s tasty quick granary bread with crushed hazelnuts through it. It just happened that it was the centre slice from the loaf. That meant, of course, that the base of the slice was missing the bit where the mixing paddle had been. That, allied with the fact that I’d used slightly excessive amounts of Scottish rapeseed oil meant it was soft. The crust was crunchy and the inner crumb structure delightful. The hazelnut bits were well distributed. But it did fall apart readily. However that was helpful in tearing off chunks to mop up my soup so my meagre dinner turned out perfectly pleasant.
The car charging, bread making and soup heating were all accomplished on the previous night’s 7p Octopus power supply.
OK, I’ll stop there, I hear you all snoring peacefully 🤣🤣🤣
