I've had my car a few days and I've just noticed this damage to a wheel my car which I didn't do...

So I made a post in a Facebook group and someone replied with the following pic...

Too much of a coincidence I reckon!

Has anyone else spotted damage to their wheels on delivery?

I too wish you luck with the dealer, come back and let us know how you get on. There is a fair chance they could play the "can't prove you haven't done it, should have reported it on pickup" card due to a few days having passed since you took the car. Let's hope they're decent though and don't.

Going off the 2 pics, something has definitely been rubbing the wheel, and tyre, that's not kerb damage. Almost certainly damaged in transit. Think you should have a good case, there. Hopefully anyway. Keep us informed. 🙂👍

Did he? can't see the OP stating this... but I hope you're right!

Ah, I see, hadn't seen that thread!

Clearly damage in transit. Going back to 2010 I had something very similar when I took delivery of a Jaguar XFS.
The damage (including to the tyre) is too symmetrical to be kerb damage. Also to 'tear' the tyre like that from hitting the kerb, would have caused far more damage to the alloy.
It will be very interesting to learn how Arnold Clark deal with this, and whether they argue. My guess, they can probably pin this on the transportation company, and that being the case there won't be a problem.

Thanks Keith - that's the opinion of most people I've spoken to. The fact that the damage is "in-line" suggests that it didn't happen whilst the car was moving or the tyre would have hit first followed by the wheel, so they'd be angled!

I'll update this when I hear back, hopefully next week.
