MG3 Hybrid+
Hi all,

I find my MG3 to be very noisy, even in EV mode, anything above 30 or 40 mph it's really noisy, wind and road noise. Obviously even worse when the engine kicks in.

Has anyone managed to lower the noise on theirs ? or does mine have a problem ?

Hi Pete have have you tried RENNIE WIND RELIEF PRO? That helped me with my wind problem Christ I sounded like a bugler in the army 😁 only joking . I can honestly say I didn't have any noises whatsoever the brief time I had with my mg3 hybrid?
 
I would rate our MG3 as pretty quiet and on the motorway, it is easy for back seat passengers to hear what those in the front are saying. Our Honda Civic, to me, but not to my wife, has terrible road noise and we all agree, those in the back seat struggle to hear what those in the front are saying.

I would agree. I find that having a conversation in my MG3 is much better than any of my friends' cars.
 
According to measurements by the German ADAC at 130km/h, the MG3 is the quietest in its class.

Thing is, the car I test drove didn't do any over revving, even when going up hills. It was brilliant, that's why I ordered one. Mine is horrendous, I don't take passengers out in it because it's too embarrassing

Did the test drive include hills though because IAM sure some of the dealerships made sure the road test didn't have hills included? Just my thoughts though.
 
The thing is my zs hybrid does it sometimes on a steep incline then the next day on the same incline it doesn't do it very frustrating indeed.
 
Yes it did, we had the car for 30 minutes to go where we wanted. No salesman with us.
Lucky you no salesman or saleswoman. The thing is the vehicle I took for the test drive didn't do it either very weird eh .? Unless MG built a few with no problems. And the millions for Joe public with loads of faults 😉

I know how you felt!! Its a bit like driving along in second gear at 25 MPH, which is in effect what the three speed autobox is doing.
Over the eighteen months I had my MG3, whilst I always maintain it was fantastic value for money, it began to dawn on me, that everything about the car was done on a budget. So the operation of the MG PILOT system whilst great in negotiating twisty roads, would slam the brakes on if you went near a parked car!
Likewise the antics of the drive train just smacked of under development, and a 'oh it will do attitude'!!!
The final straw was the absolutely atrocious level of customer service in aftersales, particularly illustrated by MG UK, who rather gave me the impression - we've got your money now, so we don't care!
As i said to them, and have stated on here before, that pile 'em high, sell 'em cheap approach, will only last for so long. Eventually potential customers who tempted by the undoubtedly good value for money, will start to steer clear, when rumours of lousy service and under development start to become more prevalent.
