Windscreen wiper warning!

Just a quick warning about the front windscreen wipers . . . . DON'T lift the passenger side wiper up off the windscreen to wash the windscreen or to change a wiper blade, it will catch the bonnet and either damage the wiper arm or chip some paint off the back edge of the bonnet.

If you want to lift the windscreen wipers up off the windscreen to wash the windscreen or to change a wiper blade, turn the ignition on, then off again, and flick the wiper stalk downwards to place the wipers into this position.

It's called the Service Position for the wipers.

Many cars are the same these days ... the wiper arms are below the bonnet edge so as to improve air flow hence drag.
