This had me thinking overnight.
I think the Romans screwed you Scots with their calendar, shifted the celebration 9 days.
Hogmanay seems much more like the Winter Solstice, a big celebration for the days getting longer at last, heading out of those long cold nights.
Wrong time of the year for us, days are getting shorter, but we know there's just more heat to come before it starts cooling off.
New Year is just another excuse to party, stay up late, watch the fireworks and drink beer.
So please excuse Terry, he's just another victim of our culture.
