OK, obviously, this is a personal gripe and others may disagree. But this one really gets to me.

You leave the MG5 with your lights still on - and it "beeps" at you when you try to lock it. That's fine.

You leave your keys in the car - and it "beeps" at you again. Good, you obviously don't want to leave the keys in the car.

You've been using Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, and you leave the phone attached to the USB cable. You leave the car, try to lock it, and it says "You want to leave your phone in the car? Fine by me!" - and LETS YOU DO IT!!! And you walk away from the car, and ten minutes later you realize that you've left the f***ing thing in the f***ing car and you've got to go back for it...

I mean - really? How hard could it be to "beep" at you and not lock the car if your phone is still attached?

...mutter mutter mutter mutter...

Anyone agree with me? Anyone have other trivial gripes that annoy them immensely?

At least once a week. Get up to my office.. No phone left it in the car. Get to the car, no keys, left them in the office. Fffffffffuuuuhhhh

My smart watch vibrates after 5 meters or so to let me know i've gone out of rang from the phone.
Works great as an "ok idiot, go get your phone"
Bit of a pricey solution, but yes, I accept that would work. Still, I prefer to wear my dumb watch that my wife bought me for my 40th birthday a long time ago..!

My BT earpiece does the same (often) for my phones.

No mobile signal where I live so never bother with a mobile phone (makes a good drinks coaster)
Total usage of phone on a £10 pay as you go is £3.12 over the last 3 years most of the calls are just text message to keep account alive. Mind you a solution to help find my wallet would be very helpful .

Might I be right in thinking there an age thing going on here, like ten minutes back I walk right across the house and into the kitchen and stopped and said now what have I come in here for?!!! LoL
Maybe I need to design another card to stick on the door with have you got you keys have you got your phone or maybe an strap to rap around your left leg to feed the phone cable through yeh that would do the job I think as you left leg is now redundant there being no clutch any more.
Les.

If married try the wife 🤣🤣

Most annoying thing for me is the radio that keeps coming on when you start the car up. I never listen to the radio - it's either audiobooks or apple music. It's always full blast since I have the volume up to 25 or so to hear the audiobook properly. I know turning the volume to zero solves this but then I miss a few lines of my book before I realise the volume is down.

When I first got the car DAB wasn't set so it was bliss, then I foolishly "saved" the unset channel and scanned for channels just to make sure DAB was working properly and then the "saved" channel hadn't saved. Wish I'd never touched it.

Mine was free with my phone, it's an older model so i guess it was a bribe to update to the new one.
Which i never did.

Hi can you not select an FM or AM frequency Where there is no station?
Les

I love my 5 but these few are annoying at times.
Not being able to fold forward the rear seat swabs I know you can take the whole swab out but what a faff even more so putting it back in.
No interior lighting in the rear but thank goodness this appears to have been addressed on the updated model still to arrive in the UK.
Water droplets in the car when it raining even with the windows only open a very tiny amount to help with demising.
The rear seat belts when your are trying to fasten them how they push down into the seats.

I found that this is related to the volume setting on the phone.

I often listen to podcasts on the phone while walking and have the volume set about 3 quarters via the phone. When I got in the car, as you've found the radio volume is bonkers loud on start up.
I've realised, that after switching the radio volume down, the volume on spotify is too low so I adjust it up to a comfortable level via the car controls. I then switch the car off before removing my phone, which leaves the volume too high for comfort on the radio... worked out by switching to the radio from android auto recently and frightening myself at how loud the radio volume was.

It may be the same on your car.

I can relate to this Les 🤣 a few others members I would hazard a guess !.
Like when I climb the stairs ( with a badly performed knee replacement ) get up there and hear myself saying :- “Now, what did want from up here ?”.
You can bet your bottom dollar, if I return down stairs, I will remember just as I get to the bottom step” 🤣.
On the ZS EV Gen1 - The info unit would display a message, to say :- “Don’t forget your phone” when powering down the car.
A useful reminder I thought ?.
The facelift does not have this feature anymore.
The face lift has the wireless charging pad on the Trophy spec, which is handy but I am always leaving my phone in the car !.
Bad enough that you have left your phone behind, when out shopping.
But I am more concerned about the “Pond Life” spotting it and breaking into my car to retrieve it !.
I find the phone ( IPhone 12 gets pretty hot when using the wireless charging pad also.

My phone lives in that thin pocket by your left leg, which helps me forget it. However once it's in there with a Waze route in, it never ever loses connection whereas if I put it on the centre console and it gets moved it will almost always disconnect (hence why I think it's bad connection rather than phone or cable fault).
