New EV tips

You can heat to just screen or use demist or take off comfort mode all work well for me and I am driving around at 3am regularly

That could be it, I will check. Thanks all.
Your welcome.
I have noticed that some times when you are playing with the HVAC - it can default to the recirc mode.
Not always - but sometimes it picks and chooses what mode it wants itself !.
When you turn on the HVAC or then go on to make changes to the settings in the HVAC screen, keep an eye on the symbol displayed in the bottom right hand corner of the info screen, when in use.
If you press on this white LED button symbol, you can cycle through the different recirc modes.
Recirc ON - looks like an white arrow symbol, that is turning back on itself.
Here you have closed of the flap that allows outside air to enter the cabin via the heater / ducting.
In this condition you are moving the same air around the cabin, okay if you want to block out the smells from a local pig farm let's say :ROFLMAO: but it has a tendency to miss up the car very quick in cold weather conditions, you need to limit it's use, to avoid quickly fogging of the glass inside
Press the button again.
Recric OFF - It looks like a similar symbol, but the arrow's shape has changed and is now an arrow with symbol that depicts that air flow is clearly flowing from outside.
There is another setting, but I just can't remember what is does right now sorry.
It's better if you scroll through the settings, when you have a bit of time and the car is parked up.
If you turn the recirc on and off ( with a fairly high fan speed ) you will hear the note from the heater motor change, as the flap opens and closes are changes the flow of air.
Hope this helps in some way !.
P.S. - If you find the inside of the car is steaming up really fast, say because you have just picked up somebody who has entered the car with wet clothes, then there is a rapid demist button next the HVAC button, below the info unit.
Hit this and you get MAX demist in a big way and the car windows will clear extremely quickly !.

If you drive on unlit country roads at night, make sure you bring a tea towel to put over the screen. Even on the lowest brightness with dark mode, the infotainment screen will still be like having a torch shining in your face from underneath.
So very true , thought I was the only one to use a tea towel though 😂

Check your settings. Mine goes dark when the lights come on. I guess there's a switch in there.

Car was off when I took the pics but didn’t seem to get brighter when I pressed stop/start and got out. I’ll test it.

I might just start turning the screen off as people have helpfully pointed out. Knowing where you’re going come’s second to seeing where you’re going after all. It’s not like I expected the car to be at the levels of refinement that the European, Korean or Japanese marques achieve.

I’m just over 2 months and 5000 miles into the ownership of this car and there’s a few things that strike me as being a bit slap dash. There’s economising on materials and then there’s just being slack.

That said, it’s saving me a load of dosh on my 80 mile each way commute so you take the rough with the smooth.

Are you saying screen is not going in to dark mode? Like in the video I posted when it's dark outside and lights on?

Hi all I'm set to collect my zs ev tomorrow, I got the standard range trophy. I've done quite a bit of research already with things you need to know etc. But as a group of owners and real people are there any things that you wish you had known from the start like most efficient or effective driving settings,
Car settings that made your life easier or simpler or that you just like? Unwritten rules around public charging at busier times? And I was also wondering if you do charge in shopping centres or something do drivers move their car once it's charged or do people just park there all day?
TIA
Hi Congrats on moving to an EV. My suggestion is don't overthink it, just enjoy the driving/ownership experience and you will pick up the most important things particular to your lifestyle/driving use as you go. Cheers from Downunder!

I often turn the screen off at night via the menu opened via shortcut “*” button on steering wheel (unless you have it set to open car play/android auto). Have also found that even though it looks like brightness is set to minimum you can override it by dragging the slider to the left again and this dulls the screen pretty well.

I’m in the process of trying to find a window film that will help dim it further. I have vinyl plotters at my business, so I’ll be cutting some out once I find a suitable film, if anyone is interested?
I just turn mine off at night. Works a treat. Second you touch a dial or sat nav gives you directions it comes back on and off as soon as it’s clear 👌🏻

FYI eco is more than just a driving mode, it also disables stuff like heating/cooling
I found this yesterday after having the car for over 2 months. Also, in ECO, I found the windscreen misted up quite often, so had to keep using the demister. I then called in to the shop, forgot to turn it in to ECO and notice the misting didn’t happen and heaters were blowing warm, after spending 20 minutes earlier in the day, then the penny dropped!

I appreciate that it is November in the UK but the front window seems to mist up an awful lot. Any tips on how to reduce this at all please?
If you have the car on Normal driving mode, just the auto setting of the blowers keeps it clear. If in ECO, it doesn’t clear the misting without having to put the windscreen demister on every 5mins.

I am still doing something wrong. In normal mode it is still misting up every 5 minutes.

When you go to the HVAC screen, in the bottom right corner, does it says AUTO, an arrow bending back on itself within the image of the car, or an arrow going from outside the car image pointing in to the car?

If it's bending back on itself within the car image, this means it's just recirculating the air around the car, so will not clear the screen. The other 2 should clear it.
