MG4 Restricted speed - weird

Tried sport mode on the way home.
Same result, over a ‘certain speed’ the power meter tumbles down from 100% to around 56% and the car just stops at that speed.
Is it above a certain speed or after going at that speed for a certain time? Or won't it go above a certain speed at all?

I’ve got a video I can send to anyone who’s interested.
The speed it happens at varies.
The car reaches ‘whatever’ speed it decides I’m getting that day and then just stops, won’t go a single mph faster.
At that point you notice the power meter tumbling.
It’s like the car decides what top speed I’m getting then adjusts the power to a level that will keep that speed and no more.

Can you find a location where the issue occurs and turn round to go downhill and see what happens. The slip road is Probably not the best place………

I kinda get all these questions and test enquiries etc. but surely it should be the MG dealership/MG UK proactively working with bowfer to finally resolve this ongoing issue one way or the other before this thread turns into another "oil leak"...just my opinion...🎯...if you want

Agreed but we can still try to help ourselves rather than just wring hands.

If you’re asking if it goes faster downhill when it’s doing this, the answer is no.
Uphill, flat, downhill.
Whatever top speed the car decides I’m getting is all I’m getting.

That car needs to go back to the dealer, definitely something wrong with it.

and this is my point 🤷‍♂️...sorry....
Briggie I get that you are saying the dealer should address it. However, posting to say the conversation shouldn't be happening also seems pointless. 😉

Has it had a new motor?
Yes, see above. However, that was probably parts swapping by MG in the hope it would fix it.

Carry on the conversation no problem...just that this forum is not going to solve it no matter how many scenarios or tests or theories we have....it needs to be bowfer and MG in some shape that resolve it

I didn’t think it had been confirmed what was actually done to it?

Oh yea of little faith! Macadoodle will have a speed unlocking pipe extension before you can say "floppy undertray"! 🤣

Possibly, now you mention it bowfer wasn't sure what was done.

You mean a flexible connection that uses spare gearbox oil, burns it in an onboard generator that produces AC, which connects to the motor via a control unit and makes the MG4 go like something off a shovel....I await the video 🏎🏁

I may be recalling incorrectly, but I'm sure the motor serial no is on the conformity certificate that comes with the car, so the new motor would have a different serial no
