MG4 Software Update Thread

So after 4 hours of updates, apparently I have everything that is available currently. Updates applied to infotainment, battery, radar, telecoms...so on R46 (SWI68-29958-1300R46 to be exact), Telecoms SNAKP18E32 according to the car.

Time well tell if things are better, but the drive home didn't set off LKA once, even when I went along the notorious section where it gets triggered by differences in tarmac...

Jeeeeez this is all so confusing to my little brain. So what’s the latest software for a MY23 SE long range?
SE are completely different numbering system - I'm on R13 (that has the external temperature) but I think it may be up to R21 (definitely R16 and R19 out there). Note that this only refers to the infotainment and you cannot see BMS, CCU etc.

What is your version?

every time I email my dealer with worries and queries she emails me back saying don’t worry everything will be alright.
I don’t like that, but I’m waiting for pick up date and hopefully everything is, alright.

What would you like them to say - "it could be a real problem as the car may try to kill you?";)

I'm 16,000 miles in with no problems (touch wood), everything probably will be alright!

If you head off to other manufacturer forums you will find it is just as bad!

@Nobbyplopps I believe R29 is available in Europe but yours is the most up to date in the UK AFAIK

Sorry no I’m more concerned with the fact the cars been in the showroom a few months. It’s a Mark1 SE SR with a 73 plate going on it.
It may not have updates it may have a bulging undertray.
If I query any of this with the dealer I get a reply saying don’t worry everything will be ok.
So knowing me as well as I do if I turn up Oct23 to pick up said car and it’s out of date technically and is in within a week fixing the bulging undwrtray then I will go absolutely mental as I’ve asked about these things and the troubles of aftercare getting a courtesy car etc.
Luckily I’m 52 yrs old ex Royal Navy female With a
Lifetime of world experience outside my own town so I don’t suffer fools nor bad workmanship gladly. 👍

Yes I’ve said this already if you look back.

Got to give them a chance first I guess because you don’t have it yet. But if those problems are there when you said to them to get it sorted then yeah go ape shit 👍💪
I’ve had a bulging undertray upon delivery 11/9 but it won’t be in the garage until 8th November 🙄

It’s all y’all’s fault being so clever and knowledgable about the car!! I’d know no different if it wasn’t for this forum. I think I’m gunna blow socks off a dealership asking about R31 or whatever 🤣 maybe not ay. Technical minded I ain’t . I come here to you guys for that 👍
A little knowledge and all that… 😆

I guess that’s what the forum is for. I wouldn’t have had a clue if it wasn’t for the moaning and whining on this forum; which is of course justified 😂

I really don't understand why MG keeps these updates a secret..
Someone has to pay for the time spent for the technician doing the updates (it is a labour intensive process, not automated), so this may be MG trying to minimise what they pay garages.

Some dealers will swallow the cost, which is why you find them willing, others won't.

MG might also lack confidence in the latest updates, so might want to limit their adoption until they have more data. It is worth noting than some percentage of updates seem to go wrong and leave a car in an inconsistent state which takes a lot of time (and calls to China) to resolve.

Are those updates to the subsystems or the infotainment?

I was told yesterday they get 36 minutes of labour covered under warranty to apply the updates
