I agree it is exceedingly easy to test if the charge circuit of the car is working, using a simple voltmeter. It seems unrealistic, that the charge circuit is broken alltogether, as no charging and driving will deplete the battery at a fairly quick rate, modern cars needs a lot of power to run...

From memory all 1.gen 42.5KWh usable cars was NMC. (But not actually possible to set it to charge to max 80% for some reason, so expect these to possibly have been charged to 100% a lot) 2.gen was LFP for standard range 50KW batteries and NMC for Long range 68KWh batteries.

That's a complete lie. The cable is literally just 2 connectors, a lenght of wire and a resistor. There is nothing in the cable that can affect the charging....Other than if there is a bad connection but that would lead to something getting warm and that would be visible. If this were true...
