I have used my granny charger for my PHEV almost every night for around two years. Last week it failed to charge (as indicated in the dashboard), although the LEDs on the charger itself were normal (remember, I’ve been using it for two years with no problems), and the car will take a charge from...
Just a suggestion… When driving on motorways, I go cruise control at 60 MPH. This runs the engine at exactly 2000 RPM, which is the most economical for a petrol engine.
Good call re dud batteries. I have a card of three Panasonic batteries. I tried the first “new” battery after trying previous other makes but this one didn’t work. I’ll try the other two tomorrow. My Panasonics look like they are the real thing but I honestly can’t remember where I bought them...
Yes, as per the manual (p 136): after inserting new battery and refitting the cover, “Set the vehicle power system to READY to resynchronise the key with the vehicle.”
Tried that - no joy.
Then thought perhaps change the battery whilst in the car (perhaps it needs to reset when it all clicks...
I’ve just replaced the key fob battery but it’s not working. The battery (tested with my meter and is the correct voltage - i.e. not flat) is in the correct way round, there‘s been nothing damaged within the key, and the spare key works fine (so it’s not the car). If it needs re-pairing, does...
Just an observation, not a complaint. I‘ve noticed that the brake lights come on when I lift my foot off the throttle pedal and the car goes into regeneration mode. The lights only come on as the car slows down to less than 30 mph. I suspect it is a safety warning to tell following drivers that...
This might help (HS PHEV):
1. Park you car close enough to your power supply to ensure the charger cable sits on the ground.
2. Plug the charger cable into your wall socket/power supply - but keep it switched off.
3. Plug the charger cable into your car - make sure that cable is sitting on the...
Is it a single beep or a double-beep? Double-beep is lane assist telling you that if you continue with the steering wheel in that position, you will cross the centre white-line, or cross the near-side white line. Single beep, I think, alerts you that you are getting too close to the vehicle in...
Got my dealer to fit one. The tow-bar itself took about three months to arrive (national shortage due to two years of staycations/caravan towing - they said).
Ah, OK. I use both together but you’re probably right if Lane Assist is off. To answer your original question - I don’t find the steering light - not even with a full load and a trailer. Best get that checked.
I assume you are not fighting against “Pilot Mode”. When on, the sensors watch the edge of the road and the centre line and try to keep you aligned - this does give a peculiar feeling while cornering. You get used to it and, for me, it works well.
No rev counter dial, but if you scroll through the in-dash options there is a page that shows you the (live) engine speed (no temp, though). I use this screen the most and can confirm that even when “auto” is in use, the petrol engine can switch off and you can see the revs go to zero.
Hope that...
