It's called Regal Blue. It's only available for members of the aristocracy. 😎

    NZ Rebate on Electric cars

I am in a similar position having bought my MG here in NZ a couple of months ago. However I have no regrets. The MG ZS was the first electric car I have ever had and the first new car that I have ever purchased. I am so pleased that I bought it. Plus, I can recharge it for free at the garage I...

National speed limit = max 60mph

Slightly off piste, but.... our national speed limit is 60mph. Well fractionally more at 100kph. Which means that we can travel at a speed that works well for EV's without slowing down other vehicles. 😁

What car did you replace with your MG?

    Kia Sorrento diesel

    Choosing which car

The light blue is only available for EV models here, not the ice ones. Black or white in ordinary paint. Then the other colours in metallic for $500 (roughly £250 or 1100 groats) While I like the fact that the MG doesn't stand out I also wish it was obvious that it was electric without...

    Returned to the dark side

We are very much in the early days of electric cars. But things are changing rapidly. From watching the podcasts and reading these messages it is clear that many of the early adopters don't just drive their cars, but their car is also their hobby. I don't fall into that category. I love my...

    MG Pilot cheat

I don't use it in the MG. We have just spent two days driving to and from Wellington in my wife's Seltos. Mainly motorway driving. I found the constant messages, pings, alerts, and the computer trying to turn the steering wheel an annoying distraction. If you have less to do because the car...

    New ZS EV driver

One of the best things is being excited about being excited. It's a good feeling. Without exaggerating too much (it's only a car) it feels like a new start in life. OK that is over egging it a bit. Perhaps, Christmas as a kid is a better analogy, wondering what it it will be like, when we tip...

    Choosing which car

We have 30 houses in our street. Of those, there is one Leaf, my MG, and my neighbour who is a car geek is pondering getting a Tesla (but he doesn't like the front of it) So 3 out of 30 and it's only just begun! Here in NZ we have plenty of electricity, almost all of which is renewable. Most...

    Choosing which car

Yes. We are very fortunate. We moved from Walsall 18 years ago. Very similar really 😂. Most people here live on the coast.

    Choosing which car

Two days ago we drove from Tauranga to Wellington, stayed overnight and came back yesterday. We did it in the Seltos. It was a business trip. No planning involved, just jumped in the car. The MG would have been a bit more involved. Next time it will probably be the MG with the help of the ABRP...

What can you get in your MG ZS EV?

Potted plants in the boot. I have since bought a rubber liner that I cut to fit.
