I know how you felt!! Its a bit like driving along in second gear at 25 MPH, which is in effect what the three speed autobox is doing.
Over the eighteen months I had my MG3, whilst I always maintain it was fantastic value for money, it began to dawn on me, that everything about the car was done...
My car had so many squeaks and creaks - particularly from the drivers seat, in the end I didn't bother mentioning it. In fact i was under the impression that as far as MG UK were concerned, those issues weren't covered by warranty.
Of course noise was always something present for me on nearly...
You make a great point about being attracted to the cars, and I was certainly guilty of that when I got my MG3.
Whilst easy for me say now, and taking the loss in value after 18months was a bitter pill to take,I think the Alarm bells were ringing even before I bought the car, but we're being...
Sadly a lot of those warnings are becoming legal requirements for car manufacturers...
Thinking on my experience, some of it maybe down to the dealer networks that the brand gave franchises too.
A lot of manufacturers, certainly amongst the premium marques, set very high standards for the...
It's my suspicion that the parent company-SAIC in China are happy to see MG UK make a profit, and to do this im guessing very little resource is provided for dealing with issues.
Unlike yourself, over the last forty years I have always bought new from a whole range of vehicle brands, and being...
The high revs are connected primarily to travelling uphill, and its as a result of the design of the hybrid drive train. Unlike most hybrids, particularly self charging i.e. the non plug in type, the petrol engine can become purely a generator to charge up the battery i/o propelling the car. The...
I had an MG3 HYBRID TROPHY for 18 months, if you want to PM me with your phone number, I will, be more than happy to chat to you about my experiences and why I decided to switch so soon.
What i would say is that its great value for money like all MG products, but there are pitfalls to be taken...
Perhaps this thread and my other one i began today (Finally given up!) should be merged!
I persevered for 18 months and 9,000 miles with my MG3 HYBRID TROPHY, but further engine emissions fault issues arose - this time suspected problem with Hybrid battery, and the standard response from MG UK -...
Interesting comparison...
I was using Richmond Guildford (far from local, but better standard of service) for my MG.
I also use them for my other car - a Genesis. Electrified G80.
Genesis are very keen to provide top notch standards of customer service which is always reflected with my...
In forty years of buying and owning new cars, I've given up on my MG3 HYBRID! Having owned it for just 18 months and 9,100 miles I part exchanged it yesterday for a BYD Dolphin Surf - this is there super mini full EV, and is a little shorter and narrower than the MG3 Hybrid, but with actually...
My car is booked in with Richmond Guildford, with a courtesy car for Monday 3rd November. They also offered a date next week with a car, but I couldn't do that day.
All that said, the light actually went out a few days later, and so far has yet to return, so I will see what happens over the next...
In colder weather the engine will run for longer, particularly if the battery is low. Usually once the battery has some energy stored, when you come to a stop the car should usually go into EV mode.
I used Richmond Guildford for my first service, and they were very efficient, and very competitive on price. If the valve can be fitted as a 'whilst you wait' job, that could be a solution to the courtesy car availability.
