Bought a brand new HS Exclusive PHEV in September 2021 but even though I've not had any major issues...I do have doubts about the quality of the components used and whether they would last over time.
It's going to part exchanged in October/November for a Hyundai Tucson PHEV.
My does exactly the same. Really flawed system of I'm honest.
Can't charge in cruise control or drops out of EV if driving manually and hit any decent length hill!!!!
Tried a little experiment today on my way home from work. I live in the South Wales Valleys so loads of steep hills etc. Done the route using the adaptive cruise control today and the car remained in EV mode all the way..even going down steep hills.
If I do the same route with me in total...
Another things I've picked up on is the poor fuel economy on PHEVs when using the petrol. It's due to the size of the engine. The two most Economical are the RAV4 and Ford Kuga...both use 2.5 petrol engines. Hyundai is also bring out the Tuson with a 2.5 petrol for it's PHEV.
PHEVs with smaller...
Unfortunately it don't work like that with the majority of PHEV's. I know the Toyota RAV4 PHEV has a different system and uses the air for out side to generate the heat without the need to use the engine...but then you talking a car which a silly money!!
Hyundai Tucson PHEV has a similar system
If you put the heating on the ICE kicks in.
Personally I can't wait for the day I get rid of my HS PHEV....and will be giving MG wide berth!!!
Yesterday I done just over a mile before it dropped to 30 miles. In totally I done around 27 to 28 miles before battery dropped to 3% but maybe 20 to 22 of those miles were dual carriageway way doing 60 to 70 mph.
Both lights were flashing on the granny charger which indicates it's fully charged and again showing 31 miles. Cars due for its first service in September so they can look then unless it drops further.
When I first had my car and fully charged it the battery range would show 32 miles...now when it's fully charged it shows 31 miles.
I only done 2400 miles since I received the car.
I've had my HS Exclusive PHEV since September 2021 and covered just over 2000 miles and apart from the odd software bug which everyone has ...no issues. Car has been perfect.
I do find the ride to soft and bouncy for my liking and did consider part exchanging it for the new Hyundai Tucson PHEV...
