I did wonder, a quick google told me it was the 12v battery that powered it and a couple of my Tesla owning friends said they did not use sentry mode owing to 12v issues.
I have an IM6 but still valid I expect:
a. DAB radio is very poor almost always switches to FM and rarely, if ever, switched back. Significantly worse than my Ioniq 5.
b. Please let us have auto dipping headlight!
c. Many want Pet Mode back.
d.The handbook shows a battery heater as being fitted...
I think you are mixing up terms. Ferromagnetic simply refers to a material that is magnetic, like iron.
Neodymium is a type of magnet, just stronger than the old fashioned type.
An old fashioned ferrite magnet does stick to the points in my car, it is just not strong enough to hold anything on...
Easy to test - take something ferromagnetic with you and see if it ‘sticks’ if yes there are magnets.
Otherwise, take a magnet to the car and if it sticks..
Checked mine on collection and no magnets but there are magnetic plates under the material.

Only seen the speed issue when it see another sign.
The IM6 has V2L so the IM5 probably does and the cable for the IM5 is for sale on the likes of MGTitan.
Mmmm, maybe because it disables the alarm/immobiliser and many insurance companies require “an alarm and immobiliser that conform to the Thatcham cat 1 standard"
I would be surprised if it is saved for any longer than the current drive…...
Yes, the menus and things take a bit of effort to set up to your personal preference but at least you can change things so that things you want easy access to are on the primary screen. For example, I frequently need...
Easily done - IM6/IM5 Switching off the beeps and bongs from ADAS quickly.

Alternatively, if it is just the driver distraction that annoys then you can put tape over the camera.
Personally, I am used to the bings and bongs and don’t mind being reminded to look at the road and to keep to...
Interesting. I sent this to customer support a couple of days ago -
The handbook shows a battery heater as being fitted (to enable rapid charging) but there is no info in the manual
about how to use it. Do you have any information?
Unfortunately, the first response was - Regarding your...
True. Sometimes it is hard to get to a person that knows what they are talking about or bothers to ask someone that does!
I sent this question to them - The handbook shows a battery heater as being fitted (to enable rapid charging) but there is no info in the manual about how to use it. Do you...
Not being negative. Just realistic. MG seem not to know or less likely be unwilling to tell us. Moreover, will OTA updates be via mobile or wifi? If wifi we will have to ensure it is enabled in the car as it disconnects every time you enable it.
I contacted MGTitan after buying it as the video link they originally provided was not for an IM6. They immediately sent me another one suitable for the IM6. I would unload it but seems I cannot attach a video here.
I have use these for a few things - boot liner and protector, storage trays and LED for the hatch (as the OEM one is woeful, especially if the boot is full). Their customer service and delivery has been faultless and the accessories exactly as expected. Photo of led installed attached,
As I said, I have had detailing done in the past. However, the results long term have always been variable. My wife’s X1 was done about 8 years ago and I think I can still see some benefits now. My 2 previous cars were detailed but although they looked great at the start any benefit was...
It could be interesting as although the IM6 appears to have a battery heater we have no info on how to use it!
P.S. I have asked MG customer services…...
Maybe listen to this before spending all that money - BBC Radio 4 - Sliced Bread, Car Shampoos and Coatings
I should add that I have had my cars detailed in the past…..
I read this very differently. I am pleased we have had some response and not surprised by the lack of detail. Hyundai customer services were woeful in their knowledge….
Someone did post on the FB group that they had had an OTA update and now had auto dim headlights……. I asked for photos but...
I don’t think the delivery process and any future report should be considered as equal. I have had good responses from MG Customer services when I have asked questions and so far (albeit its not been long!) my dealer has been great.
Interesting, I just had this from them for some queries I sent (at least they are responding):
Thank you for sharing your concerns regarding the IM6. We appreciate your detailed feedback and understand how important these features are to your ownership experience.
At present, some of the items...
Did you navigate to the charger with the in car nav? Asking as it is supposed to have a battery heater and it may be triggered by that?? Driving around, from empirical evidence does not seem to do a lot for battery charging.
You need to charge it to 100% on a 7kw charger and leave it on charge. Can be awkward to do on some TOU tariffs. From the manual:
Equalisation Charging
Where possible it is recommended that you carry out a slow charging (battery equalisation) every month to extend the service life of...
They always reset to Comfort. However, changing by voice command is very easy. That said, it is the way you drive and the weather that will have by far the greatest effect on efficiency. I could get the same efficiency in sport as in normal in my Ioniq 5.
Seems lower than I would expect. I have the IM6 LR and with my short journeys atm (circa 20miles which are always less efficient) I get 3+. That is in comfort mode and AC in auto.
I use Amazon music a lot and if I use it via car play I get the option to shuffle a play list. However, if I use the Amazon app in the car there does not seem to be a shuffle option. Anyone else see the same?
Also if you tap the person logo on the top right of the screen you get an option for...
I connected mine around 1030 this morning then locked the car. Just checked again now and the wifi was again switched off…….I wonder how long it stays on - maybe just long enough to see if there is any data to download?
I can get the car to connect to my home wifi but it does not reconnect when i return home. In fact not sure how long it actually stays connected. Is this the norm?
