    MG4 Software Update Thread

FICM and ECU's aren't related. If you update FICM, you just need to update FICM MCU which is related to FICM (USB update FICM MPU only for SWI68 build since R59) Don't worry, download files for R67 or R71 and update your car

You just need R63 or above, R67 for BT stability, or R71 fopr lastest version. After that, you have to update FICM MCU to 68.4.9.0 or above with SIPS.

    MG4 Software Update Thread

Maybe try this : MG4 Software Update Thread | MG4 EV (2022 to 2025) Forum Take the R41 file named "update."something" and compress with 7zip to a zip file and name it "ficm_soc.zip" After that try a USB update from engineering menu. And maybe there's a process we don't know yet or not...

    Infotainment configure blank screen

It's ok, we all learn together, glad I could help. And for unbinding, you have to force bind and wait 72h yes, the car is connected to MG iSMART account through VIN, so after a reset, you just need to connect and nobody can access to yours datas. Another way is to contact MG dealer with car...

    Infotainment configure blank screen

Restart again, do not set up anything, just choose English for language and place of use, refuse privacy settings etc., and it'll work. Got the same thing sometimes after a factory reset and this is how I get away with this fail.

    MG4 Software Update Thread

Like said before, both (infotainment and TBOX) only with SIPS cause it's a 2024 model build. I don't know TBOX soft version for 2024 models so I can't help tou And you can use the files in Haloweenhamster drive to download SIPS yes. But you'll also need a VCI device and a SIPS account to login

    Mg4 software versions

SWI133 means Trophy/Luxury MY2024 (or V3), and 1300R41 is the latest update we saw since 1300R36. You need to know which build you have (SWI133) which version (R41) to know what you have exactly. I got a MY2022 Luxury (Trophy) build SWI68, received in 2023, and version was R33 back then. I got...

    MG4 Software Update Thread

I think USB is still operable in some specific cases (like the procedure some post above haloweenhamster post) but SIPS is the new way to perform updates. And yes, MY22 and MY23 share SWI68 for Trophy/Luxury and SWI69 for SE/SE ER/Standard/Comfort. Since MY24, update process change and USB is...

Never do that, you'll have issues with TBOX (it'll stop working) and some settings only for SWI133 build

    Noticed something today... Bluetooth

You are right but Bluetooth for Intelligent key and Bluetooth for Infotainment aren't related, if you disable BT from infotainment, you could still use the app to unlock, lock or start the car without internet connection (if you're connected to internet, lock and unlock first work via internet...

Slightly pathetic data limitation - 1GB, MG4 Trophy

It doesn't take 5-10 min to do that, maybe 5 min the first time to set up the phone hotspot and tape the Wi-Fi password in the car, and you can set up an automation to activate hotspot when the phone is connected to the car Bluetooth. I use satnav and weather, sometimes (very few) Amazon Music...
